Eric Alexander & Harold Mabern

 tenor saxophone & piano

Eric Alexander has earned praise from critics and has established his own voice within the bebop tradition. Arguably the most prolific tenor saxophonist of his generation, he has appeared as a leader, sideman, producer and composer on countless albums.

Alexander will be joined at the Lied Center in a duo setting by Harold Mabern, a Memphis native, considered one of the most enduring and dazzlingly skilled pianists of our time. Mabern’s career began in the late 1950s and he has recorded with Lee Morgan, Wes Montgomery, George Benson and Freddie Hubbard, among many others. Mabern and Alexander have appeared on more than 20 albums together.

This event is part of the Just Friends Jazz Series.
