KU School of Music
The KU School of Music presents Mexican-American lyric tenor Genaro Méndez, associate professor of voice, and pianist Robert Hiller, a KU alumnus and retired university voice coach in Germany. They will present an evening of poetry in song through the compositions of Haydn, Beethoven, Bellini, Hahn and Ortega.
The event in the Lied Center Pavilion is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 7:00.
Méndez has a versatile and wide-ranging career as a leading operatic tenor, chamber and solo recitalist, conductor, and voice professor. Hiller coached voice for forty years at the State University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Stuttgart (Germany), and has a distinguished resume of international performances.
