In 1997, a new dance competition was launched. The result was International Dance Challenge (IDC) known by its slogan “Setting the Global Standard in Dance Competitions.” IDC held its first (2) competitions in Anaheim, California and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on January 10, 1998. Although small in the beginning, news of IDC’s reputation for being a fair, well-organized and fair competition soon traveled throughout the country. Since its inception, attendance and participation in International Dance Challenge competitions have quadrupled and continue to increase yearly.
In 2011, Randy Coleman, the National Director of IDC along with Vice President Joe Martin, purchased International Dance Challenge. Randy and Joe’s commitment and dedication make this a perfect match for the next chapter in IDC’s history …. The 15th Anniversary in 2012.
Randy’s career spans every aspect of the dance and entertainment profession, from master teacher, performer, choreographer, video/stage director and successful studio owner gives Randy the unique perspective and optimum insight for the title of CEO/President of International Dance Challenge, LLC.
A wise man once said “that you cannot know what it’s like” until you have walked in the shoes of another person; Randy has walked in your shoes. His National Championship and award winning studio in Nashville, TN has competed in countless competitions across the country. His knowledge of the challenges studio owners, dancers, and their families face in today’s competitive arena gives Randy the opportunity to present only the finest for IDC attendees.
IDC is always evolving with yearly improvements to its program, and is truly taking pride in presenting the 19th year of quality dance competitions. We are “Redefining the Global Standards in Dance Competitions.”
