Violinist Simone Porter has been recognized as an emerging artist of impassioned energy, musical integrity and vibrant sound. At 20 years of age, Porter has already appeared with the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, Houston Symphony and Los Angeles Philharmonic, and with renowned conductors, including Yannick Nezet-Seguin, Nicolas McGegan, Ludovic Morlot and Donald Runnicles.
She will perform the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35 with the University of Kansas Symphony Orchestra. KUSO is the premier orchestral organization in the KU School of Music.

Jen Nigro and volunteers will help describe, through demonstrations, how audio reader helps the visually impaired hear what they are not seeing.
