Kelli Szrot joined the Lied Center of Kansas in September 2023. She holds a Master of Opera from the University of Kansas and a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Kansas State University. Prior to her time at the Lied Center, Kelli was an entrepreneur and events and design professional as owner/operator of the award-winning event design and management company, Red Door Event & Design.
Originally from New Jersey, with stops in Germany and Manhattan, Kansas along the way, Kelli has built her career on a love of performance, design and community. She has performed professionally in opera and musical theatre across the region and continues to share her talents on community and civic theatre stages.
Offstage, Kelli is passionate about connecting people through the arts. In 2021, she co-chaired the Annual Fundraising Event Committee for Theatre Lawrence, helped launch the I.C.A.N. Fund with her 2018 Leadership Lawrence class, and later partnered with the Lawrence Schools Foundation to expand its impact. She also serves as Treasurer of the TEE C T Golf Tournament, which raises funds for capital improvements at the Topeka Civic Theatre and Academy.
Blending her background as an events professional and performer with her dedication to community, Kelli is committed to advancing the arts and enriching the cultural life of Kansas.
