Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Renee Huey holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas in Music Education. A foundation in music and education informs a well-rounded approach to live performance and technical production.
Previously, Renee served as an Assistant Technical Director at the Lied Center of Kansas, gaining hands-on experience in production planning, crew leadership, and venue operations. Earlier in their career, Renee worked as a middle and high school band director, cultivating strong communication and organizational skills that continue to inform their work in live events.
As a Technical Director, Renee oversees all aspects of technical production and labor coordination for a wide range of performances and events. Responsibilities include managing the student technical staff, developing production and labor schedules, and serving as the in-house audio engineer for both Front of House and Monitor needs.
