The Lion and the Lamb: The Pursuit for a Brighter Tomorrow

A stage play written and directed by R. Rita Rials

Presented by LRM Foundation and the Lied Center of Kansas

Inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech, The Lion and the Lamb: The Pursuit for a Brighter Tomorrow is a cry to return to values that held us stronger as a community. Writer and director Rita Rials brings her creativity to the stage to deliver a message that we must see the pain of others, and we must listen to understand and respond. In this production, talk show hosts Benny Tecumseh and Taraji Abara learn valuable lessons from their guests and demonstrate that we can make a difference, and that we do have the power to change our world. It is a battle against evil; but love, kindness and peace can win—and can move us toward the brighter tomorrow that we seek.
