The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. dedicated his life to the nonviolent pursuit of love, racial equality, social justice, compassion, and public service. To commemorate the everlasting impact of his legacy, we invite you to join us for Lawrence Public Schools’ 2023 One Dream MLK Celebration: Love Illuminates Life. With this theme, selected by our Student Equity Advisory Council, we will examine how Dr. King chose to love rather than hate, the multiple dimensions of his life, and how one man and one dream transformed society during the civil rights movement and continues to light the way to bring about change.
