Lied Across Kansas Program

As a catalyst for the arts, creativity and engagement, it is a core part of the Lied Center’s mission to provide performing arts opportunities and experiences for those who might not otherwise have access. With that goal in mind, the Lied Across Kansas program was developed in 2015. Each season since, the Lied Center has brought one performing artist or group on tour to four arts-underserved communities in Kansas. During the tours, students, educators and community members are able to experience the arts in an enhanced way through workshops, performances and conversations with world-class artists—free of charge.

The Lied Center is thrilled to expand this impactful program in the 2022–23 season with two Lied Across Kansas tours—more information to come.

2023/24 Our Band—Lied Across Kansas
The Lied Across Kansas program brings world-class artists on tour to small communities throughout Kansas, presenting free, engaging performing arts experiences for students, educators and community members. In the fall 2023 tour, the Americana duo Our Band visited four towns as part of the Lied Center’s newly expanded program: Coldwater, Protection, Jetmore and Greensburg, Kansas. Our Band members Sasha Papernik (vocalist, pianist and accordionist) and Justin Poindexter (guitarist and vocalist) performed for and worked with K–12 students in these communities.
