This forum is open to the public.

The Lawrence Branch of NAACP in partnership with Black:30 and Loud Light will host candidate forums for the City Commission and School Board general elections. The purpose of this forum is to give the BIPOC constituents an opportunity to hear candidates discuss the issues of importance to them in this election in order to amplify BIPOC voices in our community. This candidate forum will serve as a means of centering BIPOC voices in a space that has not been historically accessible and tailored to our concerns.

  • 1:15—Lawrence School Board Forum
  • 2:30—Informal Visiting with Candidates
  • 3:00—Lawrence City Commission Forum
  • 4:00—Informal Visiting with Candidates

Our organizations do not endorse candidates, but do work to encourage active voter engagement.
