The Lied Center of Kansas announced the 2024–25 season on Sunday, May 5, to the Friends of the Lied at the annual Season Announcement Party.
A few highlights of the upcoming season, which kicks off in September, include Grammy-winners The Temptations, Lewis Black, Edgar Meyer, Blind Boys of Alabama and Sullivan Fortner, as well as national Broadway tours of the Tony Award-winning shows “DEAR EVAN HANSEN” and “HADESTOWN.” In addition, the Lied Center will present the chart-topping a cappella group Straight No Chaser; the iconic Paul Taylor Dance Company; family-friendly performances, such as The Queen’s Cartoonists, Cirque Musica Holiday Wonderland and “Fraggle Rock Live“; among many other events. The Folk, Chamber Music and Just Friends Jazz Series shows will also continue in the intimate setting of the Lied Center Pavilion.
“As I reflect upon the last ten years, I always come back to one word—community. We are so grateful to the entire community, and especially our Friends of the Lied, for supporting our organization for over three decades. It is truly an honor for the Lied Center to play a role in the lives of tens of thousands every season,” said Derek Kwan, executive director of the Lied Center.
